Crisis In Foster Care

Within the next few years, the number of children and young people requiring the assistance of foster families to provide care in safe and stable environments will likely exceed 100,000. Therefore, the recruitment and retention of foster parents is absolutely vital to ensure this increased demand can be met, with many local authorities already struggling to place children and young people in their local area.

Every child has different requirements and although there is a need for new foster parents in general, the need is particularly acute for those children and young people with special needs, complex cases or living with a disability where further skills and experience are required to provide the outcomes expected.

The most important thing for children and young people who can’t live with their birth family for a period of time is stability and that they feel safe, loved and cared for.

If you are thinking about fostering you really can change lives for the better and there has never been a better time to get involved. We are looking to support people just like you to help provide a safe, stable and happy home, to vulnerable children and young people.
