Foster Care Pay and Allowances

When embarking on a journey to provide a stable and safe environment for children and young people to flourish in, new applicants can be reluctant to ask about the financial side of things, but it is very important that you are aware of the allowances and how you will be remunerated for the hard work and effort you put in. Some may think that watching a young person flourish and grow is reward enough but your time is valuable and precious, and quite rightly you will be rewarded for this.

We will provide the best training and ongoing support throughout your time with us. We don’t want finances to be a barrier preventing foster families providing love, care and stability to young people and children. We want to ease the money worries and allow you to focus all your energy on what is important - the young person or child in your care.

The needs for each young person or child are different and the allowances reflect this.

A standard placement with Phoenix55 is £450 a week. This is a basic allowance

Dependent on the needs of the young person or child and your experience/training the allowance will be scaled up

As a foster parent you will be self-employed and will pay little or no tax at all on this income and may well be still entitled to claim any existing benefits you receive.

If you are thinking about fostering you really can change lives for the better and there has never been a better time to get involved. We are looking to support people just like you to help provide a safe, stable and happy home, to vulnerable children and young people.
